Thrive Food Coaching

Thrive’s mission is to reconnect people with food, their bodies and the earth.  We achieve this through education in nutrition, cooking, food sourcing, time management and sustainable household practices, from field to table and beyond.

So much of our food is prepared for us. We hand over those essential steps from field to table; where so many nutrients and flavour can be lost, to an unknown factory or industrialized  process.

This is my mission, to see as many people as I can share in the joy of growing, cooking, sharing and eating food essentially: thriving!

Thrive Food coaching facilitates a practical and sustained improvement in people’s lifestyle choices.

We work with clients in learning how to live a life that nurtures you and allows your body to thrive.  From someone who is a ‘foodie’ to someone who only knows how to microwave instant noodles, there is always more to learn.

Courses and workshops

Sourdough bread making-Learn how to make your own nutritious delicious sourdough bread using a flexible, no knead method taught in a fun environment with an emphasis on practicality, time saving, nutrition and, of course, taste

In an evening and half a day learn this easy method, recipe included, all ingredients and snack provided. Learn to make small hand pizzas while waiting for the bread to rise. Take home your loaf of bread and some sourdough starter. This course includes four months support from Thrive as you learn to add this new skill to your lifestyle. This is a two day course consisting of an evening and half a day.

Fermented foodThrough modern, fast-paced living, and because of the increasing availability of highly processed pre-packaged foods, much of the art and enjoyment of food preparation has been lost. And, sadly, along with this, so has much of the nutrition a human body needs.
Naturally prepared food contains microbes that form a vital part of our immune system and contribute to all-round general robustness of health. The microbes improve the bio-availability of nutrients and the digestibility of the foods we eat.
(workshop duration is 2 to 4 hours)
  • Demonstration of how to care for sourdough starter
  • How the ancient milk culture Kefir works
  • How to care for Kombucha to produce immune boosting tea.
  • Discussion of lactic acid fermented vegetables.

Gluten free cooking an information session which includes recipes and a discussion of what is gluten and how to cook yummy food with out it. Question and answer session at the end.
